This collection of images relates to the idea of consumption within an urban setting, inspired by Sam Pirrottina’s piece ‘Coles‘. Consumption often leads to addiction which I showcase with the indication of smoking and alcohol. The photo narrative begins with the notion of a city, filled with people and a structured law and order, ending with an empty space on a shelf filled with products yet to be bought. I use the thin black framing to state the obvious within a blurred environment. The grey, concrete colouring dominates all my pieces to reveal a sense of harshness. However, the last image is bright to allude to how marketing cleverly tricks society into thinking a certain way.
